Simple steps for your DIY club paint:

  • Apply the paint on the recessed area using the ready filled applicators.
  • Fold a piece of dry toilet tissue and wipe off the excess.
  • Wet a 2nd piece of toilet tissue with the cleaning solution, and clean any remaining excess.
  • Leave to dry overnight.
  • A green kitchen scouring pad can be used to rub over (gently) the worked on area, this will remove any paint residue left in unwanted areas.

What does our paint kit come with?

Our packs include 1 to 8 - 10ml pots of golf club paint, 1 x 10ml pot of cleaning solution and a step-by-step easy to follow instruction guide on how to apply the paint.

The household items you'll need to complete the job include

an old towel or rag, a small plastic container for the cleaning solution, some toilet tissue. Download our instruction manual here. We can also provide club refurbishment and putter customisation.

Here are some examples of what you can achieve:

HEALTH AND SAFETY

Keep away from naked flames.

Only use under ventilated conditions.

Do not inhale.

Keep stored in a safe, dry place and out of direct sunlight.

Keep away and out of reach from children.

Wear appropriate clothing. (This paint will not wash out of clothing)

Use disposable gloves provided at all times. (Face masks and goggles are also recommended)

Spillages to skin should be removed immediately using suitable cleanser, soap and water.

Eyes should be well flushed with water and medical attention sought immediately.

Dispose of all waste correctly and responsibly; recycle where possible.
Q&A (updated from time to time)

Q. Can I paint over or on top of existing paint? A. Yes you can, or scrape off existing paint and start afresh; either is fine. (If you're scraping off, be careful not to damage your club)

Q. Do I need to use a primer on a bare metal surface? A. No, it’s a single coat paint. Paint straight onto the metal surface.

HELPFUL TIPS

Clean club thoroughly with a golf club cleaner (wire brush or toothbrush).

Clean the whole club head with warm soapy water, rinse and dry thoroughly.

Wipe off excess paint in a diagonal direction, straight down or across will remove the paint.

Wipe relatively quickly and don’t apply too much pressure.

Do not over wet 2nd piece of toilet tissue, too much cleaning solution will make the paint thin. Damp or moist is fine.

Cotton buds with cleaning solution applied are very good for tricky/tight areas. Again – damp or moist is fine.

Do not use an abrasive pad, unless the paint is fully dry (overnight).

Wear appropriate clothing, this paint will not wash out of materials.

Do not apply paint to a wet surface.

For best results, only apply paint at room temperature.

Do not thin paint with thinners. (This will result in loss of viscosity)

Warm paint to thin (if required) by placing bottle in warm water, check regularly. (Not very hot or boiling water, only part submerge bottle)

Do not use kitchen roll or rags to wipe excess, toilet tissue works best.

For the dry wipe (Step 2) use a fresh piece of toilet tissue each time, the wetted piece (Step 3) can be used several times.

Touch dry in 30 minutes, drying time 5-6 hours - overnight drying recommended.

CLEANING: After application, Swap the paint nib or cap from the paint bottle onto the cleaning solution bottle, run cleaning solution through nib or cap, when the nib or cap runs clear of paint replace onto the paint bottle. The nib or cap will be clear and ready for reuse at a later date.
